About Me

I have been in the field of education for 43 years as a classroom teacher and administrator. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Master of Education in School Administration, a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership, and a Master of Education in Psychometry. I am married to Curt Pate (also a teacher here in Hobart).

English III- students enrolled in English III will be able to write arguments to support claims in an analysis of substantive topics or texts, using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence; to write informative/explanatory texts to examine and convey complex ideas, concepts, and information clearly and accurately through the effective selection, organization, and analysis of content; to write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, well-chosen details, and well-structured event sequences; to produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience; to develop and strengthen writing as need by planning, revising, editing, re-writing, or trying a new approach; to use technology to produce, publish, and updated individual or shared writing products in response to ongoing feedback; to conduct research projects to answer a question or solve a problem; to draw evidence from literary or informational texts to support analysis, reflection, and research; to write routinely over extended time frames.
