Our very own, Cathy Hunt, Principal at Hobart High School, has been chosen as a Finalist (Top 3) for the Oklahoma High School Principal of the Year.Congratulations to Cathy Hunt for being chosen as a finalist and we certainly wish her the best as she competes for the Okahoma High School Principal of the Year!  Good luck!Elementary and Middle School Yearbook Order Deadline is January 31, 2012. Don't miss out on the memories!!!...........................15 students from Hobart HS took part in the OSSM Xtreme Challenge on Wedsnesday, January 25th at the Western Technology Center. During the challenge the students take math test and do hands on activities that involve using various math and science activities to try to win scholarships.  Hobart came home with 3 scholarships. Tatum Rayner won a $100 scholarship and both Chrissy Hollister and Kaylee Vaughn won a $150 scholarship. Congratulations Girls!!!!!Congratulations to Terri Meinert for being selected as District Employee of the Month, sponsored by BancFirst.  Terri Meinert has been employed with Hobart Public Schools for nine years.  According to Elementary School Principal Angie Winkler, "Terri Meinert goes beyond the normal call of duty to help the students.  She truly cares about each student and her actions speak very clearly about helping students handle some of life's challenges."  Besides the duties of Elementary School Counselor, Mrs. Meinert is the chairperson for the Professional Development Committee and oversees the ESL/Bilingual program.  As a proud sponsor of District Employee of the Month, Terri Meinert will receive $100 from BancFirst for this very prestigious honor.    Hobart Public Schools is extremely pleased to announce the 2011-2012 Site Teachers of the Year.Hobart High School - Joy Porter - Joy Porter has been employed with Hobart Public Schools for five years.  Her current teaching assignment is English I and II. Kenneth O'Neal Middle School - Debbie Boyd -Debbie Boyd has been employed with Hobart Public Schools for 24 years.  Her current teaching assignment is 7th and 8th grade English.Hobart Elementary School - Carol Tyson - Carol Tyson has been employed with Hobart Public Schools for 23 years.  Her current teaching assignment is Fourth grade.Joy Porter, Debbie Boyd, and Carol Tyson will each receive $125 for this very prestigious honor and will be recognized at the annual Teacher Appreciation Reception in May.  In addition, one of these three outstanding teachers will be selected as the 2011- 2012 District Teacher of the Year and will represent Hobart Public Schools in the 2011-2012 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year Competition.  ..................................................   Congratulations to Deanna Wattenbarger and Wanda Greb for being selected as recipients of the 2012 Hobart Public Schools Educator Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Hobart Education Enrichment Foundation. Deanna Wattenbarger and Wanda Greb will be inducted into the 2012 Hobart Public Schools Educator Hall of Fame at the annual Top Ten Percent Honor's Banquet on April 2, 2012.............Congratulations to Carly Nash for being named to the  All State Chorus. Good job, Carly..........................
